Our relationship with great friend and client, Andy Oke, can not only be described as genuine but also truly inspiring. We can relate to young entrepreneurs like Andy paving his own path through the world. That’s why this week; Creative Trends Painting would like to honour Andy, a true entrepreneur, by telling his story.
Andy Oke has three businesses already at the age of 26. His first, a store called Endless Surf which he opened five years ago. The surf shop can be found beside the beach on the main strip of Grand Bend and sells boards of all kinds, men’s and women’s apparel, and even rents out beach cruiser bicycles. www.endlessurf
After opening Endless Surf, Andy started his own construction business three years ago called ATO Construction. Our most recent project rewarded to us by ATO Construction was one of Andy’s largest jobs to date – a 3,000+ square foot cottage with over 200 acres of land and a spring-filled lake that stretches over 40 acres itself.
After starting two successful businesses, Mr. Oke seems to just be getting started.
Partnering up with Jennifer Pate, a double degree graduate in geography and environmental management from Oxford University, Andy’s dream of owning a wakeboarding park is coming true with the inception of Windmill-Lake Wake and Eco Park www.windmill-lake.ca
The wake park is powered by a cable that rides 700m through the heart of one of Windmill Lake’s channels. To either side is a selection of sliders, rails, and jumps that can appeal to riders of any ability. Windmill-Lake Wake and Eco Park also has standup paddles and plans to expand to canoes, kayaks, hiking, mountain biking, and eventually accommodations for their own camp.
Andy and Jennifer’s vision to present Bayfield with a fantastic wake park is matched only by their desire to build a business that’s environmentally sustainable. There are no motorized boats, trucks or cars of any kind on the park, only those needed for maintenance. In addition, the cable system itself aerates the lake, making it a healthier environment for fish, wildlife, and plants.
Windmill-Lake Wake and Eco Park opens this Saturday, May 24th. With sponsors like Rip Curl, Rock Star Energy Drink, Dragonfly Sunglasses and many more, we believe they’re on course for a terrific start!
We at Creative Trends Painting feel very fortunate to know such an inspiring and motivational person like Andy. We cannot thank him enough for his continued use of our services. Big up to Andy Oke.
